Wonka 2 is the rumored name of the upcoming 2027 film which will be released on December 17, 2027 by Warner Bros. Pictures and serve as a sequel to the 2023 film Wonka as well as the overall fourth installment of the Willy Wonka franchise.

Background

On June 13, 2024, an author named Jordan Ruimy published an article on the website World of Reel stating that he was told by a trustworthy source that Wonka 2 was happening and set for a 2027 release. However, Warner Bros. could not confirm at this point that Wonka 2 is the intended December 2027 release because the movie has yet to be officially announced. As a result, the studio's reason for holding off on announcing the film is unknown, especially since it is widely assumed to be happening. The most likely reason why it has not been announced yet is that neither Paul King nor Timothée Chalamet are confirmed to have contracts for a sequel, and both can command bigger paydays.
