The Winged Keys are magical flying keys and the only object that can open a secret door that spells can’t work on. The only key that works on the door is the large classic one. They are used in the third course in the Underground Chambers guarding The Philosopher's Stone. Harry rode on a broomstick since the Keys could fly like The Golden Snitch and catch it to. When he got onto the broom the keys attacked to protect the big one.

Physical appearances

All the keys are metallic and had wings like a bird. One key is a large classic one, colored gold and had a broken wing.

Role in the film

The keys are seen flying around at the top of the room. When Harry spotted the large key with a broken wing, he got on a levitating broomstick which attracted all the keys except for the large one. They give chase whilst Harry flies after the large one, he manages to grab it, toss it to Ron and Hermione where they unlock the door whilst Harry keeps the keys at bay. The trio manage to escape in time as the keys collide into the door.
