Wanda is Gimbel's Manager and a minor character in the 2003 New Line Cinema film Elf. He was portrayed by Faizon Love.
Role in the film[]
Wanda is first seen when he mistakes Buddy for a employee, who is wandering around the mall, and escorts him to Santa Land. He tells Buddy to do his job and when he announces that Santa is coming to the store the next day, he gets annoyed when Buddy gets over-excited. Wanda then promptly tells Buddy to stop singing, because "there's no singing at the North Pole" and later closes the store for the night, not knowing that Buddy stayed behind and redecorates Santa Land for the arrival of Santa.
When Wanda comes into the store, he is overwhelmed and surprised at the decorations that Buddy has made and fears that someone is trying to take over his job. He instructs Buddy and Jovie to keep a look out for whoever redecorated Santa land. When the Mall Santa arrives, he and Buddy clash and ensue into a fight after Buddy exposed him in front of the children. A shocked and horrified Wanda is then attracted by the Mall Santa's violence towards Buddy and immediately tackles the enraged actor to the ground, though he was getting fought off by the actor.
Due to the incident, Wanda has to stand-in as the Mall Santa, implying that he couldn't get a replacement and he is next seen when Buddy meets Jovie again.
Wanda is then last seen with the employees where they start singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" in order to raise Christmas spirit to get Santa's sleigh back in the sky again.
Trivia[]
Even though no-one mentions Wanda's name throughout the film, his name is seen on his name tag on his uniform.
