Unprotecting pages

Can the admins of this wiki please click on "change protection" on the relevant page's Edit button dropdown. Can they please do that on the pages of Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Leah Estrogen, and Mayor Phlegmming? — Preceding unsigned comment added by KYLIE1114 (talkcontribs) 05:13, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

I just noticed this, so, sorry about not answering before. That's something you'd have to ask them directly. —RRabbit42 (talk) 15:33, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Hermione Granger

Someone is back to vandalizing the Hermione Granger article again. I think it's time to protect the article so only registered users can edit it indefinitely. Of course, I still want to be able to edit it. They just did it again. Please protect the article now. You have got to block this NightKnight2100 user; they just won't stop vandalizing the Hermione Granger article, no matter how many times I tell them to stop, and they're also replacing the profile picture, so please protect the article indefinitely with some exceptions, and block NightKnight2100. I'm just about to undo what he's done again, but can you please protect the article immediately? This is serious. He just won't stop, and I’m getting pissed about it. This is starting to become an edit-war. And now he's defacing the Hermione Granger gallery. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abrouwe1 (talkcontribs) 00:44, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

We got it taken care of. —RRabbit42 (talk) 03:40, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

There's a new vandal causing trouble on the Hermione Granger articles: Pharoah667. How did they manage to get through the protection put on the pages? Do something about them, would you please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abrouwe1 (talkcontribs) 15:28, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

About NightKnight2100

So the user who recently vandalized the Hermione Granger article because he hated her, he didn't really care that being able to make edits on the Fandom network was a privilege or that deliberately defacing others' hard work would cost him that privilege? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abrouwe1 (talkcontribs) 13:32, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

This is going to cover your two most-recent messages to me. Wikis only have three levels of protection for pages: none, auto-confirm and admin. Auto-confirm means a few days after you create an account, it's marked as being allowed to edit most wikis. Admin is full protection: only administrators and users with Content Moderator rights can edit it. There really needs to be another level in between those two, but there isn't, so other than setting an expiration time on how long protection will last, sometimes we have to pick between preventing everyone from editing and realizing there will be vandalism every so often. So that's how the same person could vandalize Hermione's page again.
As to whether this person cares about being able to edit on other wikis, they don't care. There's something about Hermione that they don't like and it's driving them to keep vandalizing her page here and on at least four other wikis. What is it they don't like? Who knows? It doesn't seem to be Harry Potter characters in general, magic in the stories, girls or women, or fictional characters in general because they're only going after her.
This is just one of those situations where we probably will never know why they're doing it. If they happens to say why, it will probably be one of those rants or conspiracy theories or some oddball justification to excuse why they're doing it. Bottom line, it's just vandalism and we can deal with it. The fact that the accounts are being globally blocked means that Fandom staff or the SOAP volunteers are aware of it. The more they keep doing it, the harder it will become.
Eventually, it will be more effort to keep vandalizing than the benefit they're trying to get from it and they'll stop and go away. It just takes time. I'll keep watch and help clean up the messes. —RRabbit42 (talk) 01:54, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Can you block the User Mashupfan please for creating vandalism on Warner Bros. Wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucasmoura (talkcontribs) 15:19, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator here. Check the administrator list to see which ones you can ask. —RRabbit42 (talk) 15:57, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
