Tucker is a supporting protagonist in Racing Stripes. He is a Shetland pony who used to help Nolan train racehorses, including Sir Trenton. He presents himself with a grumpy demeanor after years of training ungrateful horses before retiring.
When Stripes first arrives at the farm, Tucker introduces him to the racetrack. Tucker later secretly watches Stripes at the Blue Moon Races, and the day after, he approaches him and suggests that he get proper training first before trying to race, convincing Stripes to be ridden to Turfway Park. When the animals eventually convince Nolan to allow Channing to ride Stripes, Stripes is discouraged, having just found out he is a zebra. Thanks to Stripes' misbehavior towards him, Franny reveals to him that Tucker used used to help Nolan train racehorses, including Sir Trenton. Tucker upholds a grumpy personality after years of training horses who never give him any thanks for his help, revealing that he is more experienced with racing than Stripes thought. This encourages Stripes to begin training with Nolan and Channing. Later after Sandy is captured, Tucker, Franny, and Goose help save her, with a little help from Buzz and Scuzz. At the end, when Stripes wins the race, he gives Tucker the roses, which pleases the crowd, and he finally gives Goose his approval beforehand.
