They are first seen when Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto lands on the Wicked Witch of the East they peek out of the bushes and when Dorothy sees them, they quickly hide. Then Glinda the Good Witch of the North tells all of the Munchkins to come out and meet Dorothy then they began singing as they celebrate the demise the Wicked Witch of the East's death and they welcome her as a heroine; however, their celebration was cut short when the Wicked Witch of the West appears, and the Munchkins are terrified of her. After the Wicked Witch of the West disappears the Munchkins are told by Glinda to get up. After Glinda instructs Dorothy to follow the yellow brick road she disappears and the Munchkins all wave goodbyes. Then Dorothy starts following the yellow brick road, then they all sang, and Dorothy began her journey they all say goodbye to her. They're never seen again for the rest of the film afterwards.
