The Butterfly Effect 2 is a 2006 American science-fiction psychological thriller film directed by John R. Leonetti. It is the sequel and largely unrelated to The Butterfly Effect it features different characters and story.
Plot[]
Nick Larson survives a car accident in which his girlfriend Julie and his friends are killed. One year later he experiences strange episodes: photos appear to move, migraines, nosebleeds — and he discovers he can travel back in time via those photographs and attempt to change the accident.
Each time he changes the past to try to save Julie (or fix his life), unexpected consequences ripple through the timeline: career failure, relationship breakdowns, death of friends, etc. He must grapple with unintended outcomes and ask: can he truly control everything?

The Butterfly Effect 2 was released direct-to-video in the United States on October 10, 2006. the received generally negative reviews. the next installment, The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations was released by After Dark Films on 2009.
