Steppenwolf is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Jack Kirby and made his first appearance in New Gods #7 (February 1972). Steppenwolf (which is German for "wolf of the steppe", or coyote) is one of the New Gods, the uncle of the supervillain Darkseid, and a member of Darkseid's Elite.

The character made his live-action debut in Zack Snyder's Justice League film, played by Ciarán Hinds.
