Eobard Thawne also known as the Reverse-Flash, Professor Zoom or Dr. Harrison Wells, is the archenemy of The Flash. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, he made his debut in The Flash #139 (September 1963). He is the first and most well-known character to assume the "Reverse-Flash" mantle. Eobard is a descendant of Malcolm Thawne/Cobalt Blue, and a maternal forefather of Bart Allen/Impulse, Thaddeus Thawne/Inertia, and Owen Mercer/Captain Boomerang. He has been established as one of the fastest speedsters in the DC Universe.
