Porky's Spring Planting is a seven minute Looney Tunes short film starring Porky Pig, released in July 1938. Like all Looney Tune cartoons of the time, it was produced by Leon Schlesinger and distributed by Vitaphone.
A 1938 issue of the Film Daily called it "Farmer Troubles" and gave the following synopsis:
"Garden activities are started by Porky with the help of his pooch, and they plant all the seeds for the various vegetables, with special emphasis on the corn. When the crops are ripe, the hen starts selling tickets to the rest of the chickens, turning the garden into a cafeteria. The corn gets special attention. Before everything is gone, Porky makes a deal with the chickens, agreeing to plant a separate garden of corn for them."
- (2017) DVD - Porky Pig 101, Disc 3
- This cartoon is the first to use the 1938-41 Looney Tunes ending theme, this time fixing the music so there was no pause after Porky signed out with his "th-th-th-that's all folks!"
- The copyright was renewed in 1966.
