Peacemaker (real name Christopher Smith) is a fictional character from DC Comics, originally from Charlton Comics.
He appears as one of the central characters in The Suicide Squad, along with Bloodsport and Harley Quinn, and the main protagonist of the eponymous HBO Max streaming television series, Peacemaker.
Peacemaker was created by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette.

In the Original Charlton Comics Continuity, Christopher Smith grew up with a father who was first an army officer and later a politician, his mother was also a research scientist married to his father. He learned some skills from his mother and father's passion for Christopher. His theory on internal guiding systems was selected by Cape Kennedy Air Force Station for space flight. While working as a scientist, he was selected by the United States Air Force to fly the X-17 at Modoc. He flew the rocket at a speed of 5,140 miles per hour, an unofficial speed record.
Smith became a peace envoy for the United States of America at the Geneva Arms Conference and tried to prevent war by using his diplomatic career to make peace. During this time, Smith developed a hobby of creating his own equipment. Smith owned a private château, called the "Peace Palace", in the Swiss Alps, keeping the advanced weapons he designed in a secret room that he called the "Peace Palace", in the Swiss Alps.
Post Crisis[]
In the Post-Crisis Continuity, Christopher is the son of Austrian industrialist Wolfgang Schmidt, and American author Elizabeth Lewis. He was born in New York City but raised in Austria. in a tragic accident in his life, His father committed suicide out of guilt after secrets about his past commanding a Nazi concentration camp in Poland in World War II came to the public traumatized Young Christopher that define his life and his relations with his father.
After the Incident, Elizabeth Lewis return from Austria to start a new life with her son and changed her name to Smith. However, Christopher had difficulty fitting in with American Society and became rebellious and aggressive. During this period, Christopher began to see visions of his father wearing the SS Uniform, urging Christopher to excel in academia to be worthy of his legacy.
New 52[]
In the New-52 Continuity, Christopher Smith used to be a career diplomat in America, he had traveled to Washington, D.C. in pursuit of the elimination of war for the greater good. When he realized that he couldn't achieve peace as a diplomat, he became the "Peacemaker", an extremist vigilante that was willing to kill anyone through force and violence if it meant achieving peace.
DCEU[]
In the DCEU Continuity, Chris Smith was born in 1981 in Evergreen, Washington. He is the son of Augene Smith, a white supremacist and leader of the Aryan Empire, and brother to Keith Smith. Since he was a kid, Auggie had trained Chris and his brother to be the perfect killing machine for his empire. During this time, the brothers grew very close in their relaxation and Chris develop a love for rock 'n roll. However, tragedy struck when One Day, Auggie made his sons fight each other to entertain Aryans' but Chris punched Keith in the head, causing him to have a fatal seizure and died. Auggie then lost all approval and respect for Chris, which, combined with his twisted ideals and constant training, caused Chris to grow up patriotic, gullible, and oversensitive.
As time grew on, Chris became obsessed with the idea of peace for the world and eventually donned a red, white, and blue costume and a chrome helmet, both adorned with a dove and became the arrogant, violent vigilante known as "Peacemaker." Augie despite his disappointment in his son's actions regarding the death of Keith built types of equipment for his son's mission of his twisted version of peace.
Personality[]
Peacemaker is a rude, condescending, obnoxious, and abrasive man who is obsessed with peace and determined to achieve it through violence.
Peacemaker genuinely wants to achieve world peace and sometimes gets along with his teammates until he feels they are a threat to his mission for peace.
While Peacemaker admitted his willingness to kill innocent people including kids to achieve peace. He changed his mind After the events of The Suicide Squad as shown by his guilt in killing Rick Flag and Royland Goff's kids, showing that he has some sense of morality left in his mind.
