Background[]

Personality[]

Ozzy is an adventurous white blood cell; who is an officer; who keeps his host, Frank DeTorre from deadly viruses. Ozzy is very humorous, he showed a lot of humor towards lots of his friends; such as Drix, Leah and the Chief of Police. He even shows humor towards the villains; such as Thrax, Mayor Phlemming and different kinds of germs. When Ozzy was saving Frank from Thrax, Ozzy was brave, selfless and heroic. In the television series, he's the same but he's even more humorous.

Ozzy is fully committed and dedicated to keep Frank DeTorre healthy and his entire body safe. However, due to Frank's poor health affecting the law and politics within the City of Frank, Ozzy does not follow rules and orders as he tends to do things his own way, believing overconfident in catching germs by himself and keeping Frank healthy. Plus, there are also times where Ozzy tends to be clumsy as he doesn't have good aim with a gun and his clumsiness sometimes cause trouble. Yet, his rebellious and impulsive nature is always what gets him into trouble where his actions cause disruption in Frank's body, himself and others. Nevertheless, Ozzy is aware of the mistakes and is capable of learning from them as he strives to do better. Another factor of his impulsiveness is to make up for ruining Frank's reputation when he caused to vomit on Shane's teacher, causing Ozzy to wanting to make a positive difference for the lifestyles of Frank, his daughter, himself, and everyone else around him. He is goofy, adventurous, resourceful, rebellious, carefree, inept, and funny.

Despite Ozzy's rebellious and reckless behavior, he is otherwise caring, friendly and forgiving. While Ozzy is a bit of narcissist and has an ego, he does not let those traits harden his heart, especially the teasing he gets from his fellow cops or anyone who belittles him. He also has a sense of humor and full of life with a carefree attitude. He is very optimistic and confident, refusing to ever give up in trying to protect Frank's body or catch germs. In the beginning, Ozzy believed he can handle situations without anyone's help as he wanted to atone for his past mistakes by himself. However, upon partnering Drix, Ozzy learned that sometimes having backup is necessary in order to secure justice and save those in need.

In spite of his goofiness, Ozzy is very intelligent and quick-witted.

When he sees Leah, he gets all flirty and tries to impress her. Ozzy can be good-natured to his friends, and he always knows what's right. Ozzy's also very brave, confronting the deadly virus, Thrax, two times despite being outclassed by him.

Trivia[]

  • Osmosis is voiced by Chris Rock.
  • He and Drix are the main characters in the T.V. show, Ozzy and Drix.
  • He is only one of two characters that have a biological first name and a normal last name.
  • Will Smith, Anthony Anderson, D.L. Hughley, Matthew Broderick, Alex Winter, Harry Connick Jr., John Cusack, Cuba Gooding Jr., Harry Enfield, Woody Harrelson, Chris Tucker, Chris O'Donnell, Todd Stashwick and Martin Short was considered to voice Osmosis Jones before Chris Rock was cast.
  • Osmosis is the only cell to have natural color facial hair.
  • Osmosis Jones is similar to Sam Witwicky and Miguel Rivera; they both have their great-great grandfathers whom they idolized (Sam Witwicky's great-great grandfather is a famous explorer in history, Osmosis Jones' great-great grandfather is a fearless brave policeman and Miguel Rivera's great-great grandfather name is Héctor Rivera was musician.) and they both follow their footsteps to prove themselves and be a part of their family legacy.
  • Osmosis is also similar to Sly Cooper; they both have ancestors whose legacy they follow in their footsteps, and they manage to have the help of their sidekicks (Murray and Bentley for Sly and Drix for Osmosis) where they defeat their nemesis and restore their name and birthright.
  • In the first episode episode of Ozzy & Drix, he was shown working snot patrol and desiring to get a promotion which doesn't make sense as he was seemingly promoted at the end of the movie.

These two things could imply that the show isn't canon to the movie and or takes place in a different universe, meaning Jones would continue to live his life in Frank.
  • Osmosis is similar to Flik from A Bug's Life; they both are blue-skinned protagonists who are often ridiculed by others for the trouble they unintentionally cause within their homes, both are in love with a purple-skinned female (Princess Atta for Flik and Leah Estrogen for Osmosis), both are determined to save their homes and prove themselves, both fight their arch-enemies where they manage defeat them by tricking them, and both are praised as heroes, getting the respect they deserve.
