Personality[]
In beginning, Mrs. Boyd is a kind, friendly, and hyper woman who cares a great deal about the well-being of her students. She is also social towards the parents of her students as she spoke to Frank DeTorre in a nice manner before he accidentally threw up on her. Mrs. Boyd is also able to recognize the amount of potential her students possessed where she saw the intellect Shane DeTorre possessed and supported the girl's desire to help poor people while worrying how the death of her mother was mentally affecting her. However, if any student proves himself or herself to be slow mentally or physically by putting not enough effort with themselves and their school work, Mrs. Boyd would give that student a last minute assignment in order to help him or her improve their education.
After Frank accidentally vomited on her, resulting in her, her family, and Frank becoming laughingstocks, Mrs. Boyd's personality had changed drastically. She develops a huge grudge against Frank, blaming him for ruining her public image and her life, including her children's lives as they started getting bullied in the aftermath of the incident. She even became unstable and hot-tempered where she would easily angry if her students were not working on their assignments in class. Mrs. Boyd also became cold towards Frank where she filed a 200-yard restraining order against him so he would not embarrass her or mess up her appearance again; showing she possessed some vanity. Despite her grudge towards Frank, Mrs. Boyd ironically did not hold the same resentment towards his daughter, Shane, stating she would never harbor anything against her students.
And because of her grudge against Frank, Mrs. Boyd at first refuses to accept his apology and lift the restraining order so he could attend a school hiking trip with Shane. However, when Frank pleads with her, Mrs. Boyd did seem to reconsider doing so, in order to make Shane happy until Frank's zit pops off his face and lands on her lips. This causes Mrs. Boyd to strengthen her grudge against Frank, refusing lift her restraining order against him and not looking concerned for him when he is transported in an ambulance and ignoring how concerned Shane was for her father.
