Frustration Over Station Lines is Bringing on More Violence.

The shortage of gasoline, which began on the West Coast and has now reached crisis proportions in much of the Northeast, is beginning to be felt in other parts of the country.

From the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes region to the Pacific Northwest, more motorists are finding it difficult to get gasoline. Stations are shortening their daily hours and more of them are closing completely on one weekend day. Several metropolitan public transit systems have had a dramatic increase in riders in recent months.
