Merlin is a legendary figure best known as the wizard featured in Arthurian legend, featured as a minor character in Quest for Camelot. He is an elderly wizard and advisor to Arthur and voiced by the late John Gielgud
Merlin is an slender elderly wizard with fair skin, long white hair and beard. He wears long dark green-emerald robes and carries a wooden staff which was curled at the top.

Merlin is first seen where Arthur leads his knights into the round table.
He is next seen when he is told about Excalibur's theft by one of the knights and he summons Ayden his wizardry pet to rescue the sword. He is later seen when he mends Arthur's wounds on his arm, When Merlin tells him that the sword haven't been retrieved, making Arthur wanting to set out by himself to search for it, but Merlin refuses, worried about his weakened strength, advises him that he recovers from his injuries and must rely his courage for his kingdom.
Merlin is next seen in a flashback where Garrett explains to Kayley about Sir Lionel teaching him after he was blind in an stable fire accident as Merlin and Ayden watch from the ramparts.
He is later seen when Arthur is called down for the round table. Later, at Kayley and Garrett's knighting ceremony, he reunites with Ayden, congratulating him for his bravery and efforts and strokes him.
- Despite being a minor character, he is seen in the UK posters of the film.
- This is one of John Gielgud's final film role before his death in 2000.
- Although he does not appear much in the film, he does appear in the video game as a supporting character where he helps Kayley on her quest to defeat Ruber and save Camelot.
