Lieutenant Max Eckhardt is a minor antagonist in the 1989 film Batman. He is a corrupt police officer who is in leagues with Carl Grissom, the mob boss of Gotham City's criminal underworld.
Max Eckhardt was portrayed by the late William Hootkins.

Trivia[]
Max Eckhardt shares a strong resemblance to Harvey Bullock from the Batman comics. However, Bullock is much more likable than Eckhardt and is one of Batman's allies (though reluctantly).
When Eckhardt said: "Where have you been spending your nights?", it’s likely a hint that he found out about the affair that Jack had with Alicia, and therefore told Grissom; this was confirmed in the novelization.
