Kreacher is the Black family's House-Elf and a supporting character in the Harry Potter films.

When Harry, Ron, and Hermione use Grimmauld Place as a temporary hideout after escaping from a Death Eater attack at the Burrow and following another assault at a cafe, they discover Kreacher has been watching them, and interrogate him to learn the whereabouts of the Horcrux locket that they're looking for. He reveals that Mundungus Fletcher stole the locket; Harry promptly asks Kreacher to track him down.

Kreacher manages to track down and bring Mundungus back to the house, with a little help from Dobby. Mundungus tells the trio that a Ministry hag took the locket from him, then reveals that the hag is none other than their former Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge via a Daily Prophet article.
