Kevin Whitney is a young Irish-American boy who is the new owner and best friend of Krypto the Superdog. He only appears in the animated series Krypto the Superdog, as Superman is Krypto's owner in the comics.

Kevin is a slender 9-year-old human boy.
Personality[]
Kevin is clever and enjoys Krypto's company greatly, and is able to communicate with him and the other animals in the series thanks to a universal translator device. However, he sometimes tends to act before thinking, which can get him into trouble. He is also protective towards not only Krypto but also his little sister Melanie. His cousin Bailey doesn't usually get along with him.
History[]
Later, Krypto is adopted by Kevin Whitney, a 9-year-old boy, with whom Superman arranges for him to stay (as Superman himself is often too busy saving the world to take care of him).
In the series, he helps Krypto and acts as sort of a human sidekick, often accompanying the dog on adventures. During these adventures, he meets the Dog Star Patrol and Ace the Bat-Hound.
He also has a little sister named Melanie, who refers to Krypto as "Kippo."
He is best friends with his next door neighbor, Andrea Sussman, the owner of Streaky.
He lives in the suburbs of Metropolis and goes to Superman Elementary School.

- He has a naughty cousin named Bailey, who discovers Krypto is Superdog. He tries many times to expose him, but Kevin, Krypto, Andrea, and Streaky manage to make the adults think he was lying.
- Kevin is similar to Benjamin Stilton (Geronimo Stilton animated series). Both have a best female friend who live next door (Kevin to Andrea, Benjamin to Pandora).
