Katz is the main antagonist of Courage the Cowardly Dog. He is an highly evil anthropomorphic lanky red cat with purple highlights and is known for his malevolent and immoral antics. He is the series' most recurring antagonist and Courage's arch-nemesis. He is a manipulative, cold-blooded serial killer who scams people by luring them to their fates for his own amusement and personal gain.

Background[]

Physical appearance[]

Personality[]

He main humor and characteristic of Katz is that he is the polar opposite of Courage; while Courage is pure good, Katz is pure evil. Because of this, while he does have some funny moments, every episode featuring him is more serious in nature. Every time he appears, Katz proves he has no morals even when he isn't trying to kill people.

Out of all the villains in the series, Katz is one of the most infamous for his cruelty. Despite his affable facade, he takes a sadistic delight in killing/maiming others and goes out of his way to torment Courage during their conflicts. Furthermore, as mentioned above, he is the opposite of Courage in every way. Unlike Courage, who never harms people unless he has to, Katz enjoys pulling of schemes with no regard for anyone else's safety. Therefore, he is one of the evilest villain of the entire series. He also loses his affable side whenever dealing with some who disgusts him, as shown whenever he looks down on others.

But even though he is pure evil, he is still civilized and well-mannered as shown when he called The Weremole an "unrefined beast". In Katz Kandy, he is already tired of always being second place, so he kidnaps Courage and Muriel to force them to reveal the secret ingredient, which is revealed to be vinegar. Katz is devastated when he has to settle for second place again, and directly says so to the viewers.
