Hop, Skip and a Chump is a 1942 Merrie Melodies short directed by Friz Freleng. It was reissued as a Blue Ribbon on March 5, 1949, titled Hop Skip and a Chump.

The title is a play on the phrase "hop, skip and a jump."
Plot[]
A grasshopper named Hopalong Casserole is being chased by two blackbirds modeled after Laurel and Hardy. He manages to outwit them easily but makes a fatal mistake of believing a closed iris shot can shield him from his enemies.
