• Only eight characters have wands with a dragon heartstring core: Hermione Granger, Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Dolores Umbridge, Horace Slughorn, Viktor Krum, Peter Pettigrew, and Minerva McGonagall.
• In the first two films, Hermione's wand is short with a black shaft and a light-colored chess piece-like handle; from Prisoner of Azkaban onwards, the wand was given a more vine-like design.
