Hanzo Hasashi (formerly known as Scorpion) is the mascot and one of the main characters of the Mortal Kombat series.

Hanzo Hasashi was the Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu, husband of Harumi, and father of Satoshi, until they, along with his clan were massacred by Quan Chi, who blackmailed the Lin Kuei. After he was killed, he got resurrected by his revenant servant until Raiden revived him in Mortal Kombat X, along with Jax and Sub-Zero. After he got revived, he resumes his role as the Shirai Ryu's Grandmaster to train new warriors and allied with his former rival and Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.

After Mortal Kombat 11, Liu Kang restarted history where he was never killed by Quan Chi's machinations, instead lived a life as a human as the new initiate of the Shirai Ryu.
