Well... there has always been an element of eroticism in vampire mythology.
―Gwen Lieber to Edgar Frog[src]

Gwen Lieber was a fictional character in the 2010 vampire horror film Lost Boys: The Thirst. She was portrayed by Tanit Phoenix.

Biography[]

Gwen Lieber was an author of vampire love novels. She approached vampire hunter Edgar Frog and asked for his help regarding her missing brother, Peter, because she suspected that he fell in with a bad crowd and disappeared during one of the raves thrown by DJ X, whom Peter was following.

Gwen always knew about vampires and told Edgar that if he took this job, it could be the last job he needed to take, as she believed DJ X to be the head vampire, and that he intended to sacrifice Peter during the rave in order to turn everyone there into vampires.

Edgar initially turned Gwen down at first, but he later changed his mind, then appeared at her hotel room and accepted her offer, while also voicing his displeasure over her novels. Gwen brought along Lars von Goetz, a former reality TV star, and Claus, a camera operator, hoping to use the mission to save their careers. She was also introduced by Edgar to Zoe, his helpful friend and fellow vampire hunter.

During the first attempt to rescue Peter, Gwen was told by Edgar to wait outside the vampires' lair. However, after Lars was killed and Edgar was injured, he, Zoe and Claus made their escape. The rescue team finally decided to go back into the lair to finish the job; only this time, Gwen joined them.

It was only after Edgar killed DJ X, with the help of his brother Alan, and rescued Peter that the truth was revealed: Gwen was the true co-conspirator with the real alpha vampire, Peter. Gwen's plan all along was to bring Edgar to Peter, whose plan was to transform him into his personal vampire hitman in order to keep his subordinate vampires in line. Regarding her true motive, the evil and traitorous Gwen stated that she wanted to become a vampire herself, and that she did not want to grow old. But rather than turn Gwen into a vampire, Peter ripped out her throat, killing her instantly.
