Tom is working at a zoo run by Spike, who catches him napping on the job. Spike tells Tom not to feed the zoo animals, and then bangs Tom to the sign that says not to feed the animals. Spike shows Tom a bucket full of disgusting stuff, and informs that he will take away his badge if he does anything wrong again. He gives the broom to Tom and tells him to get out there.
Upon hearing the conversation, Jerry is eating the popcorn while he starts to frame Tom for feeding them so he will get into trouble, and the cat is trying desperately to stop the little mouse from trying to cost him his job. Jerry feeds the beaver some popcorn but Tom has to stop him from feeding the beaver with popcorn, so he snatches the bag of popcorn from a beaver as Spike tells him not to feed the animals. Tom gets angry at Jerry but Jerry points at Tom and he sees beaver eating the popcorn and Tom told the beaver not to eat the popcorn, so the beaver hits him with it tail causing the sign hit Tom's head. Tom uses the broom to sweep the floor but he sees Jerry use the fishing rod to feed the ostrich with corn. Just as the ostrich is about to eat the corn, Tom stops the ostrich from eating the corn, but the ostrich takes a bite of the corn so they fight over the corn until Tom pulls the corn bone out of the ostrich's mouth causing Tom to crash into the wall and he looks at the corn bone, which is fully eaten. Suddenly, the fishing line lifts Tom up but he grabs the grass with his toes causing the grass to pull out but he looks down and sees Jerry holding a fishing rod. Tom then realizes that a bunch of balloons are lifting him up in the sky. Jerry brings the fishing rod forward and backward while lifting Tom up to Spike, who is using the pencil to check on the checklist. Tom encounters Spike through the window, so he uses his feet to hold the window to avoid getting into trouble. Spike only sees Tom's tail, so he closes the window causing Tom to scream but the roof pops the bunch of balloons. Spike opens the window and is surprisingly fooled. After landing back to the ground, the ostrich take a bite on corn bone so Tom gets up.
In one scene, Tom is waxing a turtle's shell who likes it. While he puts his cloth in his container for more wax he notes Jerry is at the kangaroo exhibit, who is giving a baby kangaroo pink cotton candy. Tom rushes over to the exhibit and rips the cotton candy out of the baby's paw, causing it to cry. Angry at Tom for this, the mom kangaroo kicks Tom and this causes him to fly into the turtle making Tom look like a clown with the cotton candy being the buttons and hair and the cone being his hat. The cotton candy also splattered on the turtle's shell, forcing Tom to star over. As Tom cleans up the cotton candy mess, he sees Jerry feeding the elephant with a peanut, so he rushes over to the elephant and snatches the peanut from it and grabs Jerry. Spike appears and points to the peanut but Tom throws the peanut away and Spike warns him not to feed the animals. After this, the angry elephant uses its trunk to put Tom in the dustbin.
At the Mountain Goat enclosure, Jerry prepares the sandwich for the mountain goat so he uses the rope to tie the sand then he uses the pulley to reach the sandwich for the mountain goat. So Jerry pulls the sandwich up for the mountain goat while Tom is busy sweeping up the mountain goat enclosure. Tom sees Jerry pulling the sandwich up, which makes him angry at Jerry. With Spike coming back, Tom pulls the rope but Jerry pull the rope back very hard until Tom holds onto the rope while the mountain goat is trying to get the sandwich but Jerry ties the rope onto the rhinoceros' horn so the rhinoceros pulls Tom very hard. As the mountain goat tries to take a bite of sandwich, the sandwich hits the pulley above, causing the cliff to break. Jerry runs away as Tom lands on the ground and gets crushed by the rock. The boulder breaks in half and the mountain goat grabs the sandwich with its mouth and eats it while Tom untangles the rope. The rock nearly crushes Tom until the mountain goat lands onto the rock causing the boulder to crush him and turn Tom into accordion shape. Tom comes out of the boulder and snatches the sandwich from a mountain goat. Spike walks by and sees Tom, who is keeping an eye on him.
At the lion cage, Jerry sees the lion sleeping. He bring some meat to the Lion and knocks onto the lion cage. The lion wakes up and sees the meat. While Tom is busy cleaning up the zoo, he sees the lion about to eat the sausages, so he tries to stop him, but the Lion slurps up all the sausages. Tom goes into the lion cage but he realizes the lion could eat him. After the lion eats Tom, Spike finds him by opening up the lion's mouth and once again gives Tom his last warning not to feed the animals, much to Jerry's delight and Tom's disappointment.
