Ezra Fitz is one of the major characters of the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars. He is the husband of Aria Montgomery who strives to be an author. Ezra is a former English teacher at Rosewood High School, the current owner of The Brew and an author.
Overview[]
In the series pilot, Ezra meets Aria Montgomery at the local bar and instantly hit it off. Aria then learns that Ezra is teaching at Rosewood High School, and they form a relationship soon after; at the same time, he quickly becomes popular amongst the students and the faculty members. However, he resigns from Rosewood High School to avoid getting arrested for dating a student and transfers to Hollis College, though he winds up losing his job after Aria's father, Byron Montgomery (who also teaches at Hollis) gets wind of their relationship. He eventually regains his teaching job at Rosewood and gets back together with Aria.
At the end of "Now You See Me, Now You Don't", Ezra is seen following the Liars to Ravenswood. He is aware that the Liars are looking for A and is hoping they will lead him to Alison DiLaurentis (who is revealed to be alive in the next episode). Angry that his mission was a failure, Ezra returns to his lair.
In "Hot for Teacher", Ezra takes Aria to his cabin for the weekend. It is then revealed that he's writing a novel on Alison and that he has been spying on the Liars all along.
In "Free Fall", he is approached by Mona Vanderwaal, who has been helping him with his novel. She tells him that she can no longer help him and wants out, but Ezra isn't having it and walks out. Later on, he discovers that Aria has broken into his cabin and found his novel. He goes out to search for her and finally finds her at the ski lift. He then reveals that he had a relationship with Alison, and that he was gathering information for his novel ever since the series began. A betrayed and distraught Aria dumps him, and the other Liars lose trust in him.

Trivia[]
- Despite serving as one of the main antagonists of the fourth season, Ezra is an anti-villain, as he was only stalking the girls for his book. Having said that, fans (and even the Liars) suspected that he was A due to his actions in Season 4B, even though he was in no way associated with A.
