Ernest G. "Flash" Gee (January 18, 1914 - June 22, 1987) was an American writer who worked with Bob Clampett.
Ernest Gee was born near Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ernie Sydney and Lillian M. (Bell) Gee. His father was an immigrant from Leicester and arrived in the U.S. in April 1909. He lived in Nebraska about 1912 with his wife and where Ernest's older brother was born.
He was friends with Bob Clampett when they went to school together and would always think up a lot of funny stuff together.
When Bob Clampett started working at Ub Iwerks' studio, he had did not have a writer and relied on himself writing his own stories. Bob introduced Gee to producer Ray Katz after he had worked with a writer named Howard Baldwin whom he described as "sort of a stolid guy with no bounce." Gee previously was working at a grocery store making very little money and went to work with Clampett where they would come up with gags and go out at night and play ping-pong and go to drive-ins while talking story. Clampett claimed that Gee had worked on "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid", even though Warren Foster was credited as the writer, as he stated that he and Gee talked out the first three-quarters of that picture, from the beginning to the scene where Bugs Bunny and Beaky Buzzard dance.
Gee died in 1987 at the age of 73.
