Eric Sykes CBE was an English actor, who portrayed Frank Bryce in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Eric Sykes, CBE, was born on May 4, 1923 in Oldham, Lancashire, England. Eric was a household name in England for his numerous performances over six decades. He started out as a writer for radio, but found he was a gifted performer as well. In 1992, the British Comedy Awards presented him with a lifetime achievement award. He appeared in dozens of films and TV shows over the course of his career, but is perhaps most well known for the sitcom Sykes. He also appeared in The Others, Son of Rambow and The Plank.
Eric passed away in his home on July 4, 2012, aged 89, after a short illness.
