"Dial M for Monkey: Magmanamus" is the second segment of the 1st episode from Dexter's Laboratory.

Plot[]

Synopsis[]

Summary[]

Deep underground in a bustling city, Magmanamus is trying to get some sleep, but is constantly interrupted by the city's constant noise. After being startled awake by a car crash, he pops up from the surface and tells the citizens that he has been trying to get some sleep for the past 200 years and tells them to be quiet.

After a moment of silence, everyone starts to run in fear. Despite his pleas for silence, Magmanamus punches the ground. In Dexter's laboratory, he wakes Monkey from his nap to feed him some grapes and a banana. As Dexter begins to test Monkey's powers, he gets an alert about volcanic activity and becomes excited at the prospect of a new volcano forming. As he goes to check the charts, Monkey chants then transforms into a superhero and flies to the city.

Back in the city, the officials order the citizens to evacuate as Magmanamus continues his rampage. Two pilots in fighter jets fly toward him and attack him with bullets, prompting Magmanamus to swat one of them with the back of his hand. Suddenly, Monkey appears and hits Magmanamus with a punch that sends him toward a set of buildings. Magmanamus retaliates by punching Monkey back, sending him flying into a bell tower. Magmanamus started to cry, and Monkey throws him to a power plant.

Magmanamus, now enraged, hits Monkey with the street, throws him onto a pole, blasts him with fire breath, then sends him into the ground with his fist. The citizens gather around the fissure and chant Monkey's name, to Magmanamus' dismay. Monkey, now rejuvenated, uses his powers to rock Magmanamus to sleep. As Magmanamus is gently lowered into the hole, Monkey, now exhausted, falls over. The citizens cheer for Monkey. Magmanamus pops out of the hole and tells them to be quiet, prompting Monkey to fall over.
