Chief of Police is the anti-hero/supporting character of the 2023 musical fantasy film Wonka. He is a corrupt police officer that is allied with The Chocolate Cartel. He was portrayed by Keegan-Michael Key.
Background[]
The Chief-of-Police is a corrupt police officer who is allied with The Chocolate Cartel. He is first seen when The Chocolate Cartel calls him to arrest Willy Wonka when his chocolate is too good. He soon goes to The Chocolate Cartel's headquarters in the cathedral, where he is persuaded by 1800 boxes of chocolate to get Wonka out of town by any means necessary, including death. He is next seen pushing Wonka's head into a water fountain and telling him to not sell chocolate in the town.
He then bonks him on the head with his baton. He is next seen multiple times during "You've Never Had Chocolate Like This" chasing after Wonka, before figuring out how he keeps on getting away at the end of the song. By this point, he has had lots of the 1800 boxes of chocolate, so he's very large and needs help getting up. At the end of the movie, he is with The Chocolate Cartel at the cathedral, and when Noodle finds the accounts book detailing all the illegal deeds they have done and who was involved, the Chief tries to get Noodle to hand it to him, and when she passes it to Officer Attable, he orders him to give it to him, but Attable cannot do that, because the Chief's name is in the book, multiple times. Finally, the Chief gets arrested, while Slugworth and the other evil chocolatiers are flying up into the air when they eat Wonka's special Hoverchocs.
