Captain Marvel, more commonly referred to as Shazam, is a character that appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Bill Parker and C. C. Beck, and first appeared in the debut issue of Whiz Comics #2 comic book in February 1940.

He appears in Shazam! films as part of the DC Extended Universe, as well as the main protagonist of the 2019 film of the same name.
