Betty Marion White was an American actress, comedian, author, and advocate, who was best known for her roles as Sue Ann Nivens in the CBS sitcom, The Mary Tyler Moore Show from 1973 to 1977, Rose Nylund (her most notable Disney contribution) in the ABC Studios sitcom, The Golden Girls from 1985 to 1992, and starred as Elka Ostrovsky in the TV Land sitcom, Hot in Cleveland from 2010 to 2015. She also voiced a number of animated roles, such Grammy Norma in the Universal film adaptation of The Lorax and Beatrice in Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants.
