Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress and voice actress, who is best known for her roles in various films, such as Lornette "Mace" Mason in the 1995 sci-fi thriller film Strange Days, Stella Payne in the 1998 romantic comedy-drama film How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and Tanya Anderson in the 2006 drama film Akeelah and the Bee, among others.
