Alexander Knox is a supporting character in the 1989 film Batman. He is a reporter working for the Gotham Globe newspaper in Gotham City. He is investigating the rumors of the mysterious vigilante Batman, despite risking his career and being constantly scoffed at by colleagues and city officials.
He was portrayed by Robert Wuhl.

Alexander seems to be a middle-aged man with brown curly hair, dark eyes, and a pointed nose. He is usually seen wearing a tie, a dress shirt, pants, dress shoes, a leather coat, and a fedora.
Personality[]
He is seen as an eager reporter who wants to find out if Batman is real, he is not one of the best reporters out there as Lt. Eckhardt says that he already has a bad reputation as it is. When photographer Vicky Vale hears about the Batman sightings and wants in, while he sees a relationship with Vicky, she is not interested but is willing to help him.

- In the first version of the story Knox was going to die during the Joker's attack. But the producers liked his character so much they decided to let him live. By doing this Robert Whul thought he was going to be in the other Batman films, but he was never asked to return.
- Knox was part of a deleted scene which had Bruce cover his unconscious body with his cape & cowl near the cathedral steps. Bruce makes a stealthy exit with his brass utility belt draped over his shoulder. This can be seenin the comic adaptation.
- Robert Wuhl made a cameo appearance in "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One" as Knox, confirming his existence in the Arrowverse.
