20th Century Studios, Inc. (formerly Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation or 20th Century Fox) is an American film studio and film distribution company one of the "Big Six" major American film studios, and is located in the Century City area of Los Angeles, just west of Beverly Hills. The studio was owned by News Corporation from 1984 to 2013 and 21st Century Fox from 2013 to 2019. 20th Century Studios was a member of the Motion Picture Association of America, until it was bought by Disney and the "Big Six" were reduced to the "Big Five".
In December 14, 2017, Disney has announced plan to buy 21st Century Fox assets for $52.4 billion while in October 22, 2016 that AT&T's acquisition of Time Warner assets for $85 billion. In March 20, 2019, Disney purchased 20th Century Fox to distance it from the Fox Corporation. In January 17, 2020, Disney renamed 20th Century Fox to 20th Century Studios, along with renaming Fox Searchlight to Searchlight Pictures.
